3D Scanning Costs

Prices start at approximately $3,000; however, our prices could vary significantly based on the complexity of your project. Explore the factors below to gain a better understanding of the elements that influence the pricing of our 3D scanning services, helping you discern the key components that contribute to the overall cost.

The pricing for on-site laser scanning is typically based on a daily rate, determined by the complexity of the project and the required equipment and personnel. The primary factors influencing the cost are the size of the scanning area and the desired level of detail; however, customers can opt for a lower-cost option by requesting raw scans without additional processing, along with travel expenses as needed.

Following the laser scanning process, the scans are transferred to a computer workstation for tasks such as registration, alignment, and optimization. This preparation may be for CAD modeling, or clients have the option to receive the registered point cloud for independent modeling.

This stage involves transforming the point cloud into a 3D CAD model, compatible with formats like Inventor, Revit, CADworx, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Solidworks. Modeling costs vary based on project requirements, but a general guideline suggests that modeling expenses are often comparable to or higher than scanning costs. It is customary to allocate around half of the project budget to laser scanning and the remaining half to CAD work.

Occasional travel expenses may be necessary depending on the scan location.
